'To some, Dave Brailsford is the Dalai Lama; to others, he's Colonel Kurtz'

Sir David Brailsford is one of Britain's most recognisable sporting figures: the result of a phenomenally successful career masterminding first Olympic cycling success then further triumphs in the Tour de France and beyond. He is the pioneer and chief populariser of the 'incremental marginal gains' methodology - the idea that small improvements across multiple areas add up to big leaps in performance - that has swept through stadia, boardrooms, and the media over the last fifteen years.

Brailsford is one of Britain's most decorated coaches, and also one of the most controversial. He led Team GB to unprecedented success in the velodrome and Team Sky to winning sevenTours De France in a row, but he is also been the subject of doubts and suspicions, culminating in investigations into bullying and cheating on his watch. He is now set to feature on an even bigger scale as a prominent part of the new setup aiming to turn around the fortunes of one of the world's biggest football clubs: Manchester United.

Journalist Jeremy Whittle has witnessed Dave B's journey from close range - he has interviewed Brailsford many times both on and off the record, and spent time with everyone around him that matters most including Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, ChrisFroome, Jim Ratcliffe, Victoria Pendleton, Geraint Thomas, Chris Hoy, David Millar and many more. As Brailsford arrives at Old Trafford, Being Dave Brailsford offers the full definitive story of one of Britain's most successful and controversial leaders, gurus and performance directors.
